Using Mineral Oil For Constipation Relief
Mineral Oil is a lubricant laxative for helping to treat constipation and it works by lubricating the intestinal surface so that water is not absorbed in to the tissue of a person’s intestines. The water which is not absorbed into the tissue of the intestine makes it swell and stimulates the normal forward movement of the intestines (peristalsis) and this normally results in a bowel movement within 6 to 8 hours of mineral oil being given.
