5. Women who are pregnant will often suffer from constipation because of hormonal changes to their bodies.
6. People suffering from a long term illness are at a higher risk of suffering from constipation.
7. If you like your tea and coffee and are beginning to suffer from constipation then it may be wise to cut down how much you actually drink. Although tea and coffee are liquids they actually increase the amount of liquid that appears in your urine and so less fluid is left in your colon which helps to produce fecal matter (thus stools become much harder) and constipation will occur.
8. There are other reasons why constipation happens but little is known about these such as idiopathic and you may well need to speak with your doctor or healthcare worker if any constipation problems continue.
9. The final cause of constipation may be because you are suffering from some form of syndrome such as IBS or IBD and you will need to speak to your doctor or healthcare worker about how to treat the constipation.
